The Terrible Price of Knowledge (Quit Ruining My Immersion Bro)

The better part of the last month was spent playing through The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim. There are some pretty amazing moments in the game: standing atop a mountain looking down over a harbor, hearing a dragon screech overhead, or diving into a dark cavern illuminated only by glowing mushrooms. Quite breathtaking. Some seriously Kodak times (assuming those exist while Kodak is in Chapter 11).

As much as I enjoyed the sites, I couldn’t help but be distracted by the litter marring the landscape. What litter you ask? The fricking onslaught of unnecessary information dotting the game, ruining my immersive experience.

Evolution in Social Networks

I know people.

Seriously, I have evidence. I’m sitting on over 500 LinkedIn Connections, a gaggle of Facebook Friends, and a few hundred more folks spread throughout various video game networks, such as Steam, Xbox Live, and League of Legends.
